SUMSEL - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of South Sumatra (Sumsel) has ensured that the need for logistical assistance for thousands of flood victims in Muara Enim Regency is guaranteed for some time to come until the situation there is conducive again after the flood incident.

South Sumatra BPBD Head of Emergency Management, Ansori said, the Muara Enim BPBD disaster management team had prepared public kitchens and disaster posts in flood-affected locations.

Each of these locations covers the sub-districts of Tanjung Enim, Lawang Kidul, Tanjung Agung, Muara Enim which were affected by floods that reached two meters on Sunday, June 26.

The public kitchens and posts have prepared food logistics and medicines to meet the needs of the flood victims as many as 4,674 people or 1,352 families.

In addition to local BPBD assistance, he continued, the logistical assistance was supported by the CSR of mining companies in Muara Enim Regency, namely PT. BA, PT. SBS and PT. uncle.

"The BPBD's public kitchen has been prepared, and the company's CSR assistance, in the form of food and the like, will be sufficient for some time to come for flood victims," he said in Palembang, South Sumatra, Monday, June 27.

According to him, the current condition of the location of the water has receded. Residents and officers from the disaster management operation control center team and the company's rescue team have cleaned houses from flood materials.
