Closed For 2 Months Due To The Emergence Of The Omicron Variant Of The COVID-19 Case, Universal Studios Beijing Is Now Open Again

JAKARTA - Universal Studios in Beijing opened again on Saturday after the global networked thematic park built in the Chinese capital at a cost of 20 billion yuan (Rp 44.3 trillion) was closed for two months due to the emergence of cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

At the reopening the number of visitors is limited like other attractions in Beijing.

There was a long line so that some visitors took about 10 to 20 minutes before entering the amusement ride, which first operated on September 1, 2021.

Visitors are required to show the results of a PCR test which was effective in the last 72 hours.

Visitors are dominated by students who are accompanied by their parents.

Restrictions on visitor numbers have left some visitors looking disappointed at other attractions in Beijing.

"Please fill out the form first, then you can come here tomorrow," said a Nanluoguxiang security officer to a group of girls who had already come to the famous culinary attraction in Beijing on Sunday.

The black-clad security guard didn't care at all even though a group of girls begged him to enter Beijing's ancient village area where there are many traditional street food vendors.
