JAKARTA - The hajj candidate who was hit by a car in Mecca on behalf of Sarjaka Ngadiman Nitikrama suffered a broken bone in his upper arm will soon undergo surgery.

"The condition of the congregation, we have visited, thank God, we can communicate normally. Information from the hospital tomorrow morning, God willing, the upper left arm will be operated on," said Head of the Mecca Work Area (Daker) Mukhammad Khanif in Mecca as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 25 .

Khanif visited Sarjaka who was being treated at the King Faisal Hospital in Saudi Arabia to provide support and encouragement to the patient. The patient's left leg is in a cast and his left arm is carried.

When visited, Sarjaka told the incident that happened to him on Friday (24/6) night at around 21:45 Saudi Arabian time.

At the time of the incident, after the Isha prayer, Sarjaka went to buy soap for washing at a mall not far from the hotel where he was staying.

When he was about to return to the hotel, he saw the car that was traveling was still far away, then Sarjaka crossed the road with a little run. Unexpectedly the car was suddenly in front of his body and a collision could not be avoided.

According to Khanif, the family in the country have also been contacted regarding Sarjaka's condition. The 63-year-old man who went for Hajj alone looked teary when asked about his family.

"We both pray for a speedy recovery and return to the group," said Khanif.

Regarding the cost of care and health services for Hajj pilgrims while being treated, all costs will be borne by the Saudi Arabian government.

"When he reaches the peak of the pilgrimage, if he is healthy, God willing, he can return to his group, but if later the pilgrims are still unable to join, our KKHI will make a trip to wukufkan," he added.
