JAKARTA - Investigators from the Directorate of Special Economic Crimes (Dittipideksus) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Indonesian National Police have required two suspects in the investment fraud of the Indosurya Savings and Loans Cooperative (KSP) to report twice a week, after both were released from detention because their detention period had expired.

"We ask that the suspect must report twice a week so that his whereabouts can be known, because we can no longer make arrests," said the Director of Special Economic Crimes (Dirtipideksus) of the Indonesian National Police, Brigadier General Whisnu Hermawan, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 25.

Two suspects KSP Indosurya who were released from detention because their detention period had expired 120 days, namely HS as the founder and chairman of KSP Indosurya and JI as the administration.

Although both were released from detention, the Indosurya case is still ongoing, waiting for the prosecutor's office to declare the file complete (P-21). Both are still suspects.

In order to anticipate the suspect escaping or escaping like what was done by one of the suspects, Suwito Ayub as Managing Director of KSP Indosurya, who is on the wanted list (DPO), investigators filed a ban on the two suspects.

"As a step for the Police to monitor suspects, the Police have banned them, so they cannot go abroad, besides we ask that they be obliged to report," said Whisnu.

According to Whisnu, releasing a suspect from detention for the sake of law does not mean the case is free from legal entanglement, but only released from detention because the detention period has expired and cannot be extended.

"The handling of the case will continue until it is completed or until the case file is declared complete by the public prosecutor," said Whisnu.

Until the 120-day detention period ends, the case file is still with the prosecutor's office. Whisnu admitted that he did not know what the shortcomings were so that the file was not declared complete by the public prosecutor (JPU).

"The case file that we have submitted to the prosecutor's office has not been declared complete, there are still shortcomings, we don't know what the deficiency is, because until now the case file is with the prosecutor's office," said Whisnu.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, when confirmed separately said that the case had not been declared complete (P-21), because it was hampered by the fact that investigators from the Public Prosecutor's Office had not fulfilled P-19.

Sumedana emphasized that the Prosecutor's Office is committed to resolving criminal cases of investment fraud that have harmed the public in large numbers.

So, he said, the suspect's detention period which had expired had nothing to do with fulfilling the instructions from the public prosecutor.

Sumedana said collaboration between public prosecutors and police investigators was needed in the settlement of the Indosurya KSP case.

"Hopefully we all coordinate more intensively between investigators and public prosecutors. Including in this case, if necessary, carry out a case title," said Ketut.

In this case, investigators named three suspects, namely HS as the founder and chairman of KSP Indosurya, JI as the head of administration and SA as the managing director of KSP Indosurya who is a fugitive.

HS and JI have been arrested and detained. While SA is still being chased, investigators have submitted a red notice to Interpol to look for the whereabouts of the suspect.
