JAKARTA - The mobile phone robbery targeted a residential area in Gang Haji Kiming, Cipinang Muara, Jatinegara, East Jakarta. This time, the victim was a 3rd grade elementary school (SD) boy.

Sadly, the boy tried to defend his cellphone, resulting in a tug of war with two perpetrators, a man and a woman on a motorbike.

CCTV footage at the scene shows the victim playing a cellphone in front of his house in Gang Haji Kiming.

Then two perpetrators passed, one male and one female with long hair, riding a motorcycle.

When passing in front of the victim, the male perpetrator who was driving a motorbike immediately took the victim's cellphone. The victim did not remain silent, he chased the perpetrator. The footage also shows the victim and the perpetrator pulling and pulling their cellphones.

The victim's mother, named Teti, said that her son was chasing her while pulling the perpetrator's shirt.

"My child screamed very loudly, while running and grabbing the perpetrator's clothes," said Teti to reporters, Thursday, June 23.

As a result, the speed of the perpetrator's motorbike is hampered. The suspect's motorbike crashed into the wall of a resident's house. However, the perpetrator continued to try to escape.

"The perpetrators kept getting worse, eventually getting into the sewer (water channel)," he said.

The perpetrator had thrown away the boy's cellphone in order to eliminate evidence. "The cellphone was also thrown into the sewer. But my son was quickly taken, it's okay," he said.

The perpetrators who were caught red-handed are still trying to escape. Both escaped because the victim forgave the perpetrator.

"But there were residents who beat the perpetrator wearing a helmet. Then the perpetrator didn't accept and threatened, he said he wanted to bring his friends here. I'm okay, because there is CCTV evidence, it's very clear," he said.
