The road access from Simpang Empat-Kajai to Talu, West Pasaman Regency can already be passed by vehicles after being covered by landslides since Tuesday (21/6) night.

PASAMAN BARAT - Transportation access from Kajai to Talu, Talamau District, West Pasaman Regency, West Sumatra, which had been cut off due to a landslide, is now accessible by vehicles again, Wednesday afternoon.

"The landslide material has been cleaned using heavy equipment and assisted by all parties. This afternoon the vehicle can be passed by vehicles," said Talamau Police Chief AKP Junaidi at Simpang Empat, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, June 22.

He said the clearing of landslide material had been carried out since Wednesday morning because when the landslide occurred on Tuesday, June 21 the team had difficulties due to heavy rain.

"With good cooperation, transportation access which had been closed since Tuesday night has reopened," he said.

Even though it is already open, he said, motorists are advised to remain vigilant crossing the Kajai-Talu route because the current weather is still extreme.

In addition, the hills along the road are still unstable after the natural earthquake disaster some time ago.

The access road is access that connects two regencies, namely West Pasaman Regency and Pasaman Regency.

The road access was cut off due to a landslide that occurred on Tuesday, June 21 night at around 19.30 WIB.

As a result of the landslide, one resident of Tabek Sirah Nagari Talu, Talamau Yulisman District (55) died under the landslide material. The victim was found at 05.00 WIB in a condition buried by landslide material and was dead. The victim has been evacuated and buried.

At the point where the Polong Six landslide was located, a two-wheeled vehicle with the police number BA 6857 SC was also found which was trapped and crushed by landslide material.

In addition, a minibus with a BA 1087 DO Police Number plate was hit by moderate landslides and a minibus was trapped in two landslide points.

Then there was also an ambulance car at the Jambak Hospital which was carrying the body and was also trapped at the Pasanggiangan landslide point.

Meanwhile, at the Polongan Six location, one two-wheeled unit was buried by a landslide and about 20 two-wheeled units were unable to cross because they were trapped by the landslide.
