SEMARANG - Police have arrested one member of a gang of modern shop robbers in the Bergas area, Semarang Regency, Central Java, who was desperate to injure an employee at the place of business in action.

Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Central Java Police, Kombes Djuhandani, said that one of the four perpetrators of the robbery that occurred on Thursday (16/6) this morning had been arrested.

"Three other perpetrators whose identities have been identified are still at large," he said as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 20.

One perpetrator with the initials FSA (23) resident of Candisari, Semarang City, was arrested based on the results of the investigation and CCTV inspection at the location.

"From the CCTV footage, it was identified the motorcycle that was used during the action," he added.

He explained that the gang is suspected of targeting a modern shop that is open 24 hours.

During the action, he continued, the perpetrators entered the shop and injured its employees.

In addition to taking money, the perpetrators also took a number of merchandise in the shop.

The total loss suffered by the modern shop in Randugunting Village reached Rp. 16 million.

Against the three other perpetrators who are still being sought, Djuhandani emphasized that the police will take firm action if they do not surrender immediately.
