2 Lombok-Bima Flights Delayed Due To Rob Flood At Salahuddin Airport

CENTRAL LOMBOK - PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok International Airport said two flights from Lombok Airport to Bima were delayed due to the closure of the runway at Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Airport, the impact of tidal flooding was still ongoing.

"There are two flights today to Bima which have been postponed to tomorrow. Wings Air flights are at 10.25 WITA and 16.20 WITA", said Public Relations of PT Angkasa Pura I at Lombok Airport, Arif Haryanto in Praya, Central Lombok as reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 15.

For passengers whose departure is delayed on Tuesday, June 14 afternoon, they have been flown using a Wings Air plane at 07.00 WITA to Bima Airport. Meanwhile, passengers whose departure is delayed today will be flown on Thursday, June 16.

"Both of them will be flown tomorrow at 07.00 WITA", he said.

Previously, PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok International Airport, stated that flights from Lombok Airport with the Bima flight route were postponed due to the impact of the rob that occurred in the Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Bima Airport area.

According to the Daily Flight Schedule on June 14, 2022, there are two LOP-BMU flights, Wings Air IW1878 scheduled to depart at 10.25 WITA and IW1864 scheduled to depart at 16.20 WITA. Meanwhile, the plane that was delayed was Wings Air IW 1878 for Bima with 72 passengers.

"There were two refund passengers, while 70 passengers departed June 15, 2022, at 07.00 WITA", he said.

Previously, Sultan Muhammad Salahuddin Bima Airport, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province was submerged by tidal waves or seawater flooding with the water level reaching the knees of adults. The video of the rob flood at Bima Airport went viral after it spread widely on Facebook Social Media.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Meteorological Station Sultan M Salahuddin Bima appealed to the public to be aware of the potential for coastal flooding (rob) which is predicted to occur at different times in the coastal areas of Bima and Dompu in the period June 13 to 17 2022.

"In general, this condition can disrupt the daily activities of people around the port and coast", said Forecaster On Duty BMKG Meteorological Station Sultan M Salahuddin Bima Jumratul Aida in a written statement.
