MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution is advised to follow the policy of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, which frees PBB for houses with a certain tax object selling value (NJOP).

Member of the Medan City DPRD, Mulia Syahputra Nasution from the Gerindra Faction, assessed that Anies Baswedan's policy was very pro-poor. In particular, small people who have PBB with a relatively low NJOP, but have difficulty in paying due to unsupportive economic factors.

"Reflecting on the policy, we hope that the Medan City Government can implement the same thing, although perhaps with different provisions," said Mulia, Monday, July 13.

To implement this policy, he asked the Medan City Government to implement the policy by starting to draw up regulations related to applicable rules regarding the criteria for land or houses that deserve to be free of PBB.

"For example, if the NJOP is below IDR 1 billion or specifically for the lower class based on certain criteria, the Medan City Government can apply the criteria themselves," he said.

Mulia ensured that the encouragement to imitate the policies implemented by the DKI Jakarta government was not a form of not supporting the Medan City Government in increasing PAD. On the contrary, it really supports and encourages the Medan City Government in increasing PAD.

"Because we only ask for the free PBB to be given to the poor, while for the wealthy it remains valid. In addition, there is still a lot of PAD potential that has not been fully explored, we encourage the Medan City Government through the relevant OPD to maximize these potentials," he explained.

It is known that the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan in Pergun No. 23 of 2022 waived the land and building tax (PBB) for houses with an NJOP of less than Rp. 2 billion.
