Visit Plantation And Mining Companies In Central Kalimantan, Transportation Department For ODOL Truck Education

KALIMANTAN - The Transportation Service of Central Kalimantan Province conducted raids on vehicles that were overloaded or Over Dimension Over Load (ODOL). The inspection focus will be on the plantation and mining trucks passing through several areas in Central Kalimantan.

"We have implemented some of them in Lamandau Regency, apart from efforts to suppress 'ODOL' violations, as well as guiding companies", said Head of the Central Kalimantan Transportation Service, Yulindra Dedy, in Palangka Raya, Monday, June 13.

Based on the results of the field, there are still many violations of goods transportation such as violations of Vehicle Registration Certificate (STNK), motor vehicle test (KIR), and overloading to dimensional violations.

Yulindra explained, that in giving a warning or sanction, the provincial government encourages the district government to follow up on the findings in the field because the authority to stop the company's operations lies with the regent.

"We ask that all of the findings be recapitulated and make a letter of warning or a first warning, but if up to the second and third warnings they still don't obey, then according to a circular letter from the governor, they are asked to revoke their operating license", he explained.

The provincial government is ready to assist the district government to carry out this control in the field. As for the inspections that have been carried out, by visiting several companies such as PT Kapuas Prima Coal (iron ore mine), PT First Lamandau Timber International (TBS), PT Pilar Wana Persada (TBS), PT Nirmala Argo Lestari (TBS), and PT Satria Hupa Sarana.

This activity is also filled with socialization among operational and supervisory managers, followed by inspection of goods transport in the field.

According to him, apart from law enforcement on the road, education and outreach to property owners, including large private companies (PBS) are also very necessary to be orderly and follow existing rules, to minimize traffic accidents and maintain public road conditions.

"Therefore, the high activity of mining, plantation, and forestry transportation on public roads requires special attention", he said.

Shortly, his party will also carry out similar activities in the West Kotawaringin Regency area and will continue to other regencies in the Central Kalimantan region in turn.
