JAKARTA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) are exploring cooperation by forming the Red Ant Coalition for the 2024 presidential election.

Political communication observer at Esa Unggul University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, believes that the Red Ant Coalition initiated by PKB and PKS will likely wither before it develops.

According to him, there are two main considerations for the possibility of KSM sinking before sailing. First, PKB and PKS are often considered at odds.

"The ideology of the struggle of the two parties does not seem to be in line. Although the two parties were once in a coalition in the era of Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) as president, the coalition at that time was not the idea of PKB and PKS. Democrats," said Jamiluddin, Monday, June 13.

That way, continued Jamiluddin, it is difficult for the two parties to unify the vision and mission in carrying the president. Because he said, the two parties will be trapped in their respective ideologies of struggle. "The supporters of both parties are like oil and water. Therefore, there is a possibility that the two parties in a coalition will not get support from their supporters," he said. Second, PKB and PKS do not have a strong central figure to unite the two parties. This will make the Red Ant coalition fragile, so it is easy to waver.

The opportunity in that direction, added Jamiluddin, is getting bigger because PKB seems to be forcing its General Chair Muhaimin (Cak Imin) Iskandar to become a presidential candidate. Even though Imin's electability is so low that he is not fit to be promoted as a presidential candidate. "The issue of the presidential candidate that will be promoted will make the two parties quickly falter. PKB and PKS will find it difficult to agree if they force their cadres to become presidential candidates. no one deserves to be a presidential candidate," he concluded.

Previously, the National Awakening Party (PKB) signaled the figures of presidential and vice presidential candidates that would be carried by the Red Ant Coalition in the 2024 presidential election.
