JAKARTA - The wet-dry season is hitting the Province of East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The condition of this season is feared to be a threat to farmers' crops in NTT.

The Department of Agriculture and Food Security of NTT Province is still monitoring the effect of wet-dry season conditions on farmers' crops.

"We are still monitoring the impact of wet drought on crops so that when damage occurs, appropriate handling steps will be taken," said Head of the NTT Provincial Agriculture and Food Security Service, Lecky Frederich Koli, as reported by Antara, Saturday, June 11.

BMKG reports that currently there are 21 season zones (zom) out of a total of 23 zoms in NTT that have entered the dry season. However, some areas experience or have the opportunity for low, medium, or very high rainfall in the Dasarian II June 2022.

Lecky said that wet-dry conditions were a challenge for the agricultural sector. However, so far it has not had an impact on farmers' production.

In the next one and two months, the Department of Agriculture and Food Security of NTT Province will continue to be monitored to determine the effect of wet dry season conditions on crops.

"When there is damage to crops due to conditions this season, intervention measures will be taken," he said.

Meanwhile, farmers in areas that still have rainfall are advised to use rainwater to increase water supplies to face the dry season.
