JAKARTA - The NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting survey states that the electability of the PDI-P and Gerindra has not been defeated despite recent maneuvers by other political parties that lead to coalitions.

"In the midst of the formation of KIB and the maneuvering of the parties towards 2024, the electability of PDIP and Gerindra is still unbeatable," said Executive Director of NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting Andreas Nuryono in a press release in Jakarta, Thursday, June 9.

He said that no party has yet been able to surpass the position of PDIP and Gerindra in the midst of their maneuvers. The findings of the NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting survey show that PDIP's electability is 17.7 percent, while Gerindra's is 12.5 percent.

PDIP and Gerinda always rank first and second, while other parties fluctuate. The third last position was occupied by PKB, with an electability of 8.0 percent.

Golkar, which was the initiator of KIB, only won 5.8 percent electability, or was again displaced by the Democratic opposition party (6.2 percent). Then there are PSI (5.5 percent), PKS (5.0 percent), and Nasdem (4.4 percent).

Other KIB members, he said, are also not yet secure in their positions, because they are still below the parliamentary threshold, namely PPP (2.5 percent) and PAN (1.8 percent). "Compared to Golkar, the electability of PPP and PAN has slightly increased," said Andreas.

He explained that if it was correlated with the presidential election, the high electability of PDIP and Gerindra showed the axis of the coalition that was built to carry the presidential and vice presidential candidates had the opportunity to be more solid and win broad support.

Then according to him, KIB also faces challenges considering that there are no internal figures from the three political parties who have high enough electability, as well as Nasdem, which tends to prefer to carry presidential and vice-presidential candidates from outside the party.

The other parties have not yet discussed the coalition. The rest, he said, were new and non-parliamentary parties, including Ummat (1.3 percent), Gelora (1.0 percent), and Perindo (0.8 percent). Then, Hanura with electability (0.3 percent). percent), PBB (0.2 percent), and PKPI and Berkarya respectively (0.1 percent). Garuda and Masyumi Reborn have zero support, while the other parties have 0.9 percent.

"There are still 25.9 percent who say they don't know / don't answer," he said.

The NEW INDONESIA Research & Consulting survey was held on 30 May-3 June 2022 for 1,200 people representing all provinces. The survey method is multistage random sampling, with a margin of error of plus or minus 2.89 percent and at a confidence level of 95 percent.
