Furthermore, the East Jakarta Metro Police Pioneer Precision Team immediately arrested the perpetrators involved in the brawl.
"Around Jalan Dewi Sartika, Kramat Jati, there we secured eight people, with evidence of three motorbikes, two long sickles, after that we proceed to the detective unit for follow-up," he said.
Of the eight people who were arrested, two of them were prosecuted because they were proven to be carrying two sickles.
"We will find again who is the admin (Instagram account) and so on, we are looking for more," he said.
Kompol Khairuddin said the two groups of teenagers involved in the brawl were on average under 17 years old.
He said, they do brawls to exist on social media. Therefore, they have their own Instagram account that uploads the brawl.
"They exist for Instagram, basically they want to stand out to make themselves look (strong) and secondly, because of their content," he said.
He said that before the brawl occurred, two groups of teenagers had made an appointment by sending messages via Instagram to determine the location of the brawl and the time. They taunted each other.
"They really want to find an opponent, later they will make an appointment on Instagram," he said.
