JAKARTA - Police officers carried out a sweeping debt collector which recently made residents of West Jakarta restless. The Head of the Cengkareng Police, Kompol Ardhie Demastyo, said that his party was forced to investigate the whereabouts of debt collectors due to the large number of reports of motor vehicle confiscation cases in Cengkareng.

"Many reports have come to us (Cengkareng Police) which means that this is troubling to the community. Today we arrested 8 debt collectors," said Commissioner Ardhie when confirmed by VOI, Monday, June 6.

Kompol Ardhie explained that the sweeping of debt collectors or eagle eyes was carried out at 6 vulnerable locations.

"The locations are in Swamp Buaya, Kapuk, Kedaung, Kali Angke Duri Kosambi, West Cengkareng and East Cengkareng," he said.

A total of 8 debt collectors were arrested from three different locations. They were arrested from the areas of Jalan Rawa Buaya, Kapuk and Angke.

The police chief ensured that his party would conduct inspections and take firm action against debt collectors who had disturbed the community, especially in the Cengkareng Region.

"This is done to provide a sense of security to the community. For this implementation, we carry it out every day at the hours that usually eagle eyes or debt collectors act in the Cengkareng area," he said.
