JAKARTA - The TNI Commander, General TNI Andika Perkasa, hopes that the presence of the World Peace Organization (WPO) will be able to become a medium in resolving various conflicts between countries in the world.

"If two regional countries are cohesive and peaceful side by side, I am sure that conflicts will be isolated," said General Andika Perkasa quoting Antara, Sunday, June 5.

WPO management meeting with General Andika in order to ask for support and direction from the TNI to carry out the mission of world peace and the installation of an inscription symbolizing world peace in Papua.

According to him, the presence of the WPO can also help provide more normative direction for resolving conflicts between countries. Thus, it is hoped that there will be no casualties between the two parties.

He is of the view that the role of civil society is also important in efforts to resolve conflicts. "So, later it helps to reduce the emotions and tensions that are in conflict," he said.

The resolution of conflicts between countries does not only have to wait for international institutions, but domestic-scale organizations are also expected to have a role.

"Because the more people who help reduce tension and emotions, the more problems can be solved in a normative way," he explained.

Meanwhile, WPO Vice President, Bambang Hari, said that currently there are 202 countries that have joined the organization. Since 1997 WPO has continued to promote various moral activities.

WPO is a world peace organization in which there are 27 retired generals, which was established to create thought and discipline by applying TNI standards.
