While Waiting For Haryadi Suyuti's Status At The KPK, Yogyakarta City Government Guarantees Public Services To Remain Normal

YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government will ensure that all public services are not affected by the Corruption Eradication Commission's arrest operation against the former mayor of Yogyakarta, Haryadi Suyuti.

Not only Haryadi, in the OTT, the KPK also secured a number of public officials and state civil servants within the Yogyakarta City Government.

"Regarding yesterday's incident, in principle, we will ensure that it does not affect public services to the community," said Yogyakarta City Mayor Sumadi in Yogyakarta, Antara, Friday, June 3.

According to him, the Yogyakarta City Government will wait for the results of the investigation conducted by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) within 24 hours and the status of the public officials involved in the case of the former mayor of Yogyakarta.

"Our decision will very much depend on the determination of the status by the KPK. In principle, there must be a leader in the service, so there must still be an executor of duties or daily executives," he said.

He also emphasized his commitment to ensuring that all state civil servants within the Yogyakarta City Government always maintain integrity to create a clean government and bureaucracy.

"To be honest, I was surprised by this case. I really didn't expect something like this to happen," said Sumadi, who has not even been in office for two weeks as the Acting Mayor of Yogyakarta, replacing Haryadi.

He also said that the case that had just happened was a valuable lesson and was ready to guard it so that similar cases do not arise during his leadership period.

"From the beginning, I have emphasized that all ASN must maintain their neutrality," he said, admitting that he had not received any information regarding the type of case that dragged the ASN.

He also mentioned that there were no legacy files from Haryadi left in the Yogyakarta mayor's office. "So I don't know whether any files were confiscated or not. All I know is there are literature books in the cupboard. If the files are gone," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Yogyakarta City DPRD Danang Rudiyatmoko said the same thing was that he was surprised by the news of Haryadi's arrest by the KPK.

"Of course I am surprised. This incident is a valuable lesson for all, although until now I do not know what the clarity of the case is. What is certain is that it is related to bribery," he said, calling the case tarnished the good name of the city of Yogyakarta.

Nevertheless, he said that Haryadi was a leader in a good government because he was able to bring the City of Yogyakarta to obtain an unqualified assessment (WTP) for regional financial reports for 13 consecutive times.

"This means that for 10 years as mayor, Yogyakarta won the WTP predicate," he said.

Therefore, Danang suspects that Haryadi's arrest case is not related to misappropriation of regional finances but is purely a bribery case. "Obviously, the KPK has conducted a long search before making arrests and developing a case that dragged a number of officials in the Yogyakarta City Government," he said.
