JAKARTA - Chairman of Commission B for the Economy of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Ismail, admitted that discussions regarding the plan to determine the integrated Jakarta transportation tariff are still delayed. In fact, the target of implementing the integration tariff will be at the end of March 2022.

However, Ismail said that the discussion on integration rates for a number of transportation modes would be continued next week at a meeting with the DKI Provincial Government.

"God willing, next week we will have a follow-up meeting. Actually we wanted to try it some time ago. However, considering that several related parties such as the Assistant for the Economy, the Head of the Transportation Service, are accompanying the Governor (activities), we cannot do it yet," said Ismail to reporters, Friday, June 2nd.

Ismail said that, next week, the DKI Jakarta DPRD will issue a recommendation to the DKI Provincial Government's proposal to propose travel fares using public transportation, namely Transjakarta, MRT Jakarta, and LRT Jakarta with a nominal value of Rp. 10,000.

Ismail said that during the last deepening of the discussion on integration rates, it was likely that the DPRD would approve the tariff that would be charged to the public in the amount of Rp. 10,000 for three hours using several modes of transportation proposed by the DKI Provincial Government.

"Regarding the proposed value, which is Rp. 10 thousand, from the results of yesterday's investigation, it seems that it can be mutually agreed later," said the member of the PKS faction of the DKI DPRD.

However, the DPRD has given a note to the DKI Provincial Government so that the implementation of integration tariffs can be more beneficial for Jakarta residents.

Bearing in mind that with the integrated tariff, a number of DKI Jakarta Regional Owned Enterprises in the transportation sector will require a larger subsidy injection than the DKI Regional Budget when the integration tariff is implemented.

"We want to expand the benefits that can be felt by the community. Even though there is an increase, it is hoped that when there is a stimulus like this in the transportation sector, DKI residents will make it easier for their mobility. So that later the economic recovery can be even faster ," he explained.
