JAKARTA - The World Muslim League invited the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, to visit the International Museum of the History of the Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization in Medina, Saudi Arabia. The invitation to Ms. is considered full of meaning.

"The invitation of the World Muslim League for Ms. Puan is an honor and at the same time an acknowledgment of Ms. as a nation's leader," said the Executive Board of the Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education Institution (LPTNU), Marzuki Wahid in a statement, Thursday, June 2.

The invitation from the Muslim World League was also considered as a tribute to Puan as one of the world's female leaders. According to Marzuki, the Indonesian people need to feel proud because this is also an award for all Indonesian people.

Marzuki also praised Puan for continuing to carry out DPR diplomacy on the sidelines of performing Umrah services. Moreover, Puan's meeting with the World Muslim League is an impetus for the construction of the International Museum of the History of the Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization in Indonesia to be completed soon.

“This step by the chairman of the DPR is very appropriate and important. Not only meeting personal spiritual needs, but also Mbak Puan explores and lives up to the needs of the Indonesian Muslim community, which is the largest Muslim population in the world," said Marzuki.

“This is a very touching spiritual diplomacy. I really appreciate the steps taken by the Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives because on the sidelines of his Umrah pilgrimage, he took the time to fulfill an invitation to visit the Prophet Muhammad SAW Museum in Medina," he continued.

Marzuki said that Puan showed empathy for the expectations of Muslims in Indonesia regarding the need for spiritual facilities. He considers that spiritual empathy is needed considering that Indonesia is a country whose people highly uphold religious values.

"Not because of political interests, but the fulfillment of people's basic rights. In this case, it is the spiritual right of the community in religion,” explained Marzuki.

The Chancellor of the Fahmina Institute of Islamic Studies (ISIF) in Cirebon assessed that the steps taken by Puan were important to be imitated by leaders of other nations. Marzuki is of the view that, under any circumstances and anywhere, a leader must explore and appreciate the needs of the nation, even in a series of worship activities.

"I think that in this context it means that the heart and mind of Puan are a nation with various problems and challenges that must be resolved. The problem of the nation is its inherent concern," he said.

“This is one of the requirements to become a great leader of Indonesia in the future. Moreover, Puan also tries to explore the environment of the Prophet's Mosque which is very artistic, religious, and full of solemnity," added Marzuki.

As is known, Puan fulfilled the invitation of the World Muslim League to visit the International Museum of the History of the Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization which was in Medina during the Umrah pilgrimage.

The Museum of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is a reflection of the life of the Prophet Muhammad and the starting point of Islamic civilization which has now spread throughout the world. The World Muslim League in collaboration with the Assallam Waqf Foundation in collaboration with the Indonesian Mosque Council (DMI) is currently building the same museum in Jakarta.

There, Puan conveyed her pride because Indonesia was chosen to be the first country outside of Saudi Arabia to build the International Museum of the History of the Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization.

"On behalf of the Indonesian nation, we express our gratitude because Indonesia was chosen as the first country to build the Prophet Muhammad Museum out of 25 countries that submitted applications. This is an honor for us,” said Puan when meeting with representatives of the Muslim World League, Monday (30/5).

The first woman to serve as Chair of the DPR also expressed her support for the construction of the Prophet Muhammad SAW Museum in Indonesia. Puan hopes that the construction of the museum will be completed soon.

"We hope that the Museum of the Prophet Muhammad in Indonesia can be built soon so that we Muslims in Indonesia and from various other parts of the world can know and love the Prophet Muhammad even more," said the former Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture.

In addition to talking about the museum, Puan also expressed the hope of the Indonesian people for closer relations with Saudi Arabia. Moreover, relations between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia have been warm since the era of President Soekarno.
