JAKARTA - The Ministry of Religion dispatched 325 hajj officers who are members of the Saudi Arabia Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH) 1443 H/2022 AD.

"Today, 325 officers departed, consisting of 206 officers from the Ministry of Religion and related agencies, as well as 119 officers from the Ministry of Health," said Director General of Hajj and Umrah (PHU) Hilman Latief in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, June 1.

He said the officers were dispatched to provide services to Indonesian pilgrims.

"Those who depart today will serve in the Jeddah Hajj Affairs Office (KUH), Airport Work Area, and Madinah Work Area. They will serve in accommodation, consumption, transportation, Hajj ritual guidance, and health services," he said when releasing the officers' departure. Hajj 1443 H/2022 AD at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Jakarta, Wednesday.

On the same occasion, the Special Staff of the Minister of Religion for Communication, Media, and Image Building, Wibowo Prasetyo advised the officers to carry out their duties optimally.

"According to the message of Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, provide the best service. Do not disappoint Indonesian pilgrims who have been waiting for the opportunity to perform Hajj for a long time," he said.

He asked the officers to help the pilgrims carry out their worship properly and comfortably.

"Make this year's pilgrimage the best experience for them. Prepare our shoulders to help them carry out their worship well and comfortably. Do this as much as possible," he said.

Previously, the 2022 Hajj Advance Team was dispatched to Saudi Arabia. There were 14 officers who departed on May 29, and 16 officers departed on May 31. They will serve about 90 days or the longest of all Hajj officers.

The advance team is in charge of carrying out final checks of all hajj operational processions. They will also ensure all service requirements are ready to operate.
