DENPASAR - A video of a man stealing underwear in South Denpasar, Bali, has gone viral on social media. In the video, the man was caught by a resident and then taken into custody.

The incident occurred at a boarding house on Jalan Griya Anyar, Pemogan Village, South Denpasar, Sunday, May 29. When the police received the report, they immediately went to the scene.

The perpetrator is known to have the initials AR, a crew member at Benoa Harbor, Denpasar.

"The perpetrator admitted that he took the underwear consciously and was not affected by drinking or drugs, on the grounds that the perpetrator wanted to get married," said South Denpasar Police Chief Kompol Made Teja Dwi Permana, Monday, May 30.

"The motive is, he just wants to have those panties, for marriage he said that, he said he was absent-minded," said Commissioner of Police Dwi Permana.

From the police statement, at first, the occupants of the boarding house saw the perpetrator sneaking up on the front porch of the victim's boarding house. The perpetrator was immediately shouted at by the residents of the boarding house.

Meanwhile, the perpetrator took the underwear that was dried in front of the boarding house. When the pants were placed on the terrace of the boarding house, residents shouted at the perpetrators.

From the preliminary examination, the perpetrator admitted that he had no sexual fantasies. But the perpetrator admitted that he wanted to have the underwear because he was interested in the underwear.

"If we have mental disorders, we have not asked for information from expert witnesses to examine his mental condition. But we called his family if there is a history of mental disorders, it turns out that there is none. The victim did not make a report to the police regarding this incident. Therefore the police did not continue the investigation.

"We cannot investigate further because the complainant or the victim himself does not want to report. Information from the brother (sister) of the perpetrator, that the perpetrator has never committed a crime, and has no history of mental disorders," said Kompol Dwi Permana.
