Gunung Kidul Regency Government Will Disburse Financial Aid For Political Parties IDR 1.1 Billion

DIY - The Government of Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), will disburse political assistance funds to nine political parties (parties) that won seats in the Gunung Kidul DPRD amounting to Rp1.1 billion.

Head of the National and Political Unity of Gunung Kidul Regency, Johan Eko Sudarto, in Gunung Kidul, Sunday, said that nine political parties that received political assistance, namely the 10-seat PDI-P, nine-seat NasDem Party, six-seat PAN, five-seat Golkar Party, PKB , PKS, and the Gerindra Party each with four seats, and the Democratic Party with three seats.

"Until now, we are still waiting for the requirements collected by political party administrators. If all the requirements are met in the near future, the political assistance funds (banpol) will be disbursed immediately," he said.

He said this political assistance was intended for political parties that have seats in the DPRD. The political aid budget is the same every year, around Rp. 1.1 billion. Currently, Banpol funds are still in the verification process. The search for aid funds itself is not expected to take long.

In detail, his party has not been able to explain each political aid fund received by the party. However, the calculation is IDR 2,506 per valid ballot obtained during the 2019 Legislative Election.

"This means that every party that has a seat in the DPRD is multiplied by 2,506 per valid ballot, and we will make a decree later," he said.

He hopes that political aid funds can be used as well as possible by the party. Especially in educating the public about politics. "According to the main purpose of the banpol funds for political education and party operations. We hope that they will actually be used," he hoped.

According to him, the nominal amount of each vote is guided by Government Regulation Number 1/2018 concerning the Second Amendment to Government Regulation Number 5/2009 concerning Party Financial Aid. Actually, it could be increased but there are several considerations, one of which is the increase in the area's financial capacity.

As an illustration, the nominal given to each political party is adjusted to the number of valid votes in the 2019 General Election. The winner of the most votes with a total of 107,225 voters, PDI-P received assistance of Rp. 268,706.00. While the smallest assistance from the Democratic Party was Rp. 25,700 votes and received assistance of Rp. 64,404,000.

"Consideration of regional financial capacity is the basis for not increasing political party assistance, so that currently it has not been included in the policy priority scale to increase political assistance," he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Gunung Kidul Golkar Party DPD, Heri Nugroho, said the political party had submitted an accountability report (LPJ) for the use of the budget for its 2021 activities. He hoped that political aid would be immediately disbursed so that it could be used to provide political education to Golkar Party cadres.

“This year's political aid budget has not increased. We hope that next year, political assistance will be increased,” he said.
