JAKARTA - In Tasikmalaya, there is an area that was once a garbage dump and has now been transformed into an international standard soccer sport facility.

The Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) of Cisayong, Tasikmalaya, West Java, has developed a former landfill site into an international standard soccer sports facility.

"In the past, this land was a garbage dump because the land was not productive," said Cisayong Village Head Yudi Cahyudin in Tasikmalaya, Saturday, May 28, quoted from Antara.

The field, named Sakti Lodaya, lies on terraced land flanked by Mount Galunggung and a hilly area with cool air.

The expanse of green grass of the type of Zoysia matrella linmer tightly covers every gap in the ground in the soccer field area with an area of team standard. On the side of the field there is a jogging area.

"This grass is equivalent to the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) field, even FIFA standards. We use grass from the results of community cultivation here," he said.

The Sakti Lodaya facility is divided into three zones, in addition to the field for team matches, it is also equipped with a training field of 42x25 square meters.

In addition, village officials also completed a 120-square-meter Elderly Park area which divides the football field area with the practice field.

"This is part of the Love for the Elderly program in commemoration of the 2022 HLUN. This is a follow-up by providing facilities for the elderly because there are jogging paths, therapeutic stones, plants that refresh the eyes of the elderly," he said.

The land with a total area of almost 5,000 square meters with the status of village treasury land has been renovated since 2018 by spending around IDR 2 billion.

"The funds consist of IDR 1.4 billion in 2018-2019 village funds, financial assistance from the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and IDR 650 million for Transmigration in 2019," he said.

He said that currently there are still around 350 square meters that will be developed for the provision of sports facilities for the elderly such as stationary bicycles, playgrounds and others.

"Currently, around 85 percent of the new construction has been realized," he said.

The existence of these facilities is also an input for village income through land rentals worth Rp. 2.5 million for 2 x 45 minutes of matches.

Yudi hopes that the Sakti Lodaya facility will become an alternative tour for people outside the Tasikmalaya area who want to take the time to exercise.
