Governor Of Southeast Sulawesi Inaugurates Acting Regents Of South Buton And West Muna

KENDARI - The Governor of Southeast Sulawesi Ali Mazi inaugurated the Acting Regents of West Muna (Mubar) Bahri and South Buton (Busel) La Ode Budiman in Kendari.

The Governor revealed this inauguration as a follow-up to the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri) Number 131.74 - 1207 of 2022 dated May 13, 2022 concerning the Appointment of the Acting Regent of South Buton, Southeast Sulawesi and Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 131.74 - 1209 of 2022 dated May 13, 2022 concerning the Appointment of the Acting Regent West Muna, Southeast Sulawesi.

"In this regard, I, as the regional leader of Southeast Sulawesi, congratulate you on the inauguration of the two of you who have just been inaugurated in their respective positions," said the Governor, quoted by Antara, Friday, May 27.

The appointment and inauguration of the Acting Regents of Mubar and Busel was carried out with the aim of filling the vacant positions of regent/deputy regent for the 2017-2022 period in the two regions whose terms of office ended on May 22, 2022.

This is done so that the government, regional development, and community services in the two districts continue to run in an orderly manner as they should.

"The inauguration of the South Buton Regent and the West Muna Regent should have been held on May 23, 2022, but for one reason or another the inauguration could only be held on this occasion," continued the Governor.

He said one of the main tasks of the acting regent is to keep the conditions of the area and community he leads always safe, peaceful, orderly and peaceful.

In addition, he said, as the head of government in the region, he must ensure that all government affairs under the authority of the region run properly according to the provisions and regulations of the applicable laws.

"Make sure all the people in the area you lead feel the government's services and enjoy the results of regional development policies/programs," said the Governor.

The bureaucratic apparatus must be fostered so that they always work professionally as state servants, government servants, and public servants, and ensure that all local government officials led by the two acting regents work in a harmonious and mutually supportive relationship for the smooth running of their respective tasks.

The acting regent as an active ASN together with other ASNs in his working area together maintains neutrality and does not get involved in practical politics in relation to the upcoming regional head elections, he said.

"Make sure that the presence of the acting regent is not for a particular group, but for all the people in the area that you lead," said the Governor.

The governor reminded two important points to the newly appointed regent. First, that the term of office of the regent is no longer than one year, starting from the date of his inauguration, and can be extended for another year by the same or different people in accordance with the provisions and laws and regulations in force until the stipulation of a definitive regent/deputy through the regional head election process.

Second, as a form of accountability to the government, the acting regents of the two regions are required to submit a report on the implementation of their duties to the Governor of Southeast Sulawesi as the representative of the central government which is copied to the Minister of Home Affairs at least once every three months.

Furthermore, as the representative of the central government in Southeast Sulawesi, the Governor asked the newly inaugurated regent to seriously oversee and ensure that the regional development policies/programs established together with the DPRD are in line with provincial government policies and national policies.
