JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the MPR, Jazilul Fawaid, expressed his deep condolences for the death of a prominent Muhammadiyah figure, Ahmad Syafii Maarif or Buya Syafii. According to him, Buya Syafii is one of the best sons of the Indonesian nation.

"Innalillahiwainnailaihirojiun. Of course, we as the leadership of the MPR and the Deputy DPP of the National Awakening Party (PKB) express our deep condolences. He is one of the role models, the best son of the nation," said Jazilul, Friday, May 27.

The man who is familiarly called Gus Jazil also prayed that Buya Syafii would get the best place on the side of God Almighty.

"Goodbye, exemplary Buya. May you always be in the grace and pleasure of Allah SWT, and get the best place by His side," said Gus Jazil.

For Jazilul, Buya Syafii is a scholar and statesman with integrity. Therefore, according to him, various ideas and ideas during Buya's lifetime must continue to be revived and fought for for the advancement of religion and the state.

"The thing that impressed me the most from Buya Syafii, when I accompanied Gus Muhaimin (Ketum DPP PKB), he said: "Gus Muhaimin is the real politician," said the Deputy PKB.

However, continued Jazilul, Buya Syafii still reminded and gave encouragement so that all can become politicians who are statesmen. Because, being a politician statesman is difficult.

"But he has set an example for all of us on how to be a good statesman," he concluded.
