5 Police Who 'closed Their Eyes' To Langkat Regent's Cage In Ethical Trial, Sentenced To Transfer To Postponement Of Promotion

MEDAN - The North Sumatran Police have imposed sanctions on 5 police officers suspected of being involved in the cage case belonging to the inactive Langkat Regent Publishing the War-Angin Plan.

The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, explained that the five members of the National Police had been examined and underwent an ethics trial. Of the five police officers, 4 were from the Langkat Police Station and the other from the Binjai Police.

Kombes Hadi explained that based on the investigation, the five police officers were not directly involved in the Langkat Regent's cage.

"Regarding the role of the five, they are aware of (the case). But they did not report it to their superiors or their leaders," said Kombes Hadi, Tuesday, May 24.

The five police officers have been questioned since the case started. The five have also received sanctions from the results of the court's decision.

"The sanctions are demotion, then postponement of promotion, transfer, not receiving regular salaries. There are various kinds of sanctions given to the five suspects according to their respective roles and we have tried them," he said.

In this case, the police named the Regent of Langkat, who was not active in the issuance of the Wind-Up Plan as a suspect, as a suspect. In total there were 9 people who were ensnared as suspects in this case, including the child of Terbit Plan with the initials DP.

It is strongly suspected that there was torture of the occupants of the cage. From the police investigation, it was found that 4 occupants of the cage were killed.
