At The Student Dormitory Arrested By Densus 88, Command Knives And Bows Were Found

JAKARTA - Head of the RW 06 Dinoyo Village, Malang City, Maki Kriswanto, admitted that he was asked to see the search at the boarding house for suspected ISIS sympathizers in Dinoyo Permai Timur by the Densus 88 Anti-terror Team at the National Police Headquarters.

"I was asked to witness the search of the boarding house in question. However, I did not meet the person concerned," said Maki in Malang, East Java, Tuesday, May 24, quoted from Antara.

Based on his observations at the time, there were a number of pieces of evidence that were secured by the Densus 88 Anti-terror Team at the National Police Headquarters, including three flags, books, laptops, flash drives, commando knives, and bows.

"Yesterday, as I know, there are two cars (Densus 88) in the north, there are also like those in the alleyway on the highway. There are more or less three cars," he said.

He did not know for sure the identity of the alleged ISIS sympathizer who was secured by the Anti-terror Detachment Team 88 at the National Police Headquarters. However, when witnessing the search, the suspected ISIS sympathizer was already secured by the Densus 88 Team.

"I don't know the identity of the person concerned, whether he is a student or a private worker, but what is clear is that he is boarding here. I also don't know the person, nor do I know his age," he said.

After witnessing the search which was carried out for approximately 1 hour from 13.00 WIB, he was asked by officers to come to the Malang City Police Station to sign the official report regarding a number of evidences that were secured.

"The search process didn't take too long, maybe about 1 hour. Then I went to the Malang City Police Station to see the items that were secured by the officer. I only signed the minutes of evidence," he said.

Previously, the Detachment 88 Anti-terror Team at the National Police Headquarters secured a student in Malang City, suspected of being an ISIS sympathizer, in a boarding house in Malang City.

Malang City Police Chief Kombes Pol. Budi Hermanto in Malang City, Tuesday, said it was true that there was an arrest of suspected ISIS sympathizers in Malang by the Densus 88 Anti-terror Team at the National Police Headquarters on Monday (23/5).

"Yes, that's right, when he was about to make an arrest he coordinated with the Malang City Police," said Budi.

In connection with more detailed information regarding the arrest of suspected ISIS sympathizers in the area of Jalan Dinoyo Permai Timur Lot 2 number 7 RT03/06, Dinoyo Village, Lowokwaru District, the Densus 88 Anti-terrorism Police Headquarters will deliver.

"For further information, it is in the Densus, because the data and other things are in the Densus," he said.

Help ISIS

The National Police said that a student from a university in Malang, East Java, with the initials IA (22) who was arrested for a terrorism case, planned to carry out an amaliyah action. The plan was communicated with the suspected terrorist network Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) with the initials MR.

"The person concerned communicated intensely with the suspect from the JAD group on behalf of MR who had been arrested. In the context of practicing public facilities and police stations," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Tuesday, May 24.

In addition, these students also have other roles. Among them are raising funds to help ISIS activities in Indonesia.

However, Ramadhan did not specify how IA would raise funds. This is still being investigated by the Densus 88 team.
