JAKARTA - Around 7,000 students of early childhood education (PAUD) and kindergarten (TK) in Depok received knowledge about traffic discipline from the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya at Ancol Art Market, Pademangan, North Jakarta.

Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo said they obtained this knowledge through activities for Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Kindergarten in collaboration with the Association of Indonesian Early Childhood Educators and Education Personnel (Himpaudi).

"There are many schools involved today, involving at least around 7,000 PAUD and kindergarten children," said Sambodo, Tuesday, May 24, quoted from Antara.

Polda Metro will also hold a similar event by inviting all PAUD and TK in all jurisdictions of Polda Metro Jaya, from Jakarta, Bekasi City, Bekasi Regency, Tangerang City to Tangerang Regency.

Sambodo said that the activity is expected to instill character education, especially traffic discipline from an early age, to children.

In addition, to enliven the Gebyar PAUD and TK Jabodetabek this Tuesday, the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya also held various competitions, including dance, drawing and coloring competitions.

"So, in addition to the introduction of signs and traffic discipline, then proceed with competitions," said Sambodo.

Sambodo hopes that the children will be able to appear confident when participating in dance competitions, and be expressive when holding drawing and coloring competitions.

The members of the Polwan Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya who were present at the location were no less cheerful following the children's dance at the location.

Especially when a similar event has been in hiatus for two years when COVID-19 was at its peak some time ago.

The mother of PAUD Depok City, Eti Maryati Salim, said that this activity was an important form of learning outside of school for children.

"This is part of our children's learning outside of school, where our children appear confident in various competitions held by Himpaudi," he said.
