Two Judges Involved In Drugs, MUI Lebak: Should Set A Good Example

BANTEN - The management of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of Lebak Regency, Banten deeply regrets that two judges of the Rangkasbitung District Court (PN) were involved in the abuse of the methamphetamine drug case. They are now suspects. "The judge should set a good example to the community because they are law enforcers," said Deputy Chair of the Lebak Regency MUI, KH Ahmad Hudori, in Lebak, Banten, as reported by Antara, Monday, May 23.

The MUI of Lebak Regency is certainly concerned that two judges of the Rangkasbitung District Court who are state civil servants were arrested by the National Narcotics Agency of Banten Province, related to drug abuse cases. Drug trafficking also has the potential to divide the unity and integrity of the nation," he said. Therefore, the Lebak MUI asked the Banten BNNP to continue to investigate and explore drug trafficking in the Rangkasbitung District Court, because it was feared that there might be other suspects.

"It is dangerous for law enforcement or judges who are involved in drug consumption, it is certain that they work unprofessionally and are young to accept bribes to buy methamphetamine which is quite expensive," he said.

So far, narcotics trafficking in Indonesia has penetrated remote villages, and victims there are students, students, community, artists, and housewives.

However, he said, it would be more dangerous if state apparatuses were involved in narcotics, such as judges, the TNI, and the police. Thus, the Lebak MUI also supports state officials involved in narcotics being fired and serving sentences.

"We are very devastated and regret that the judges of the Rangkasbitung District Court were involved in illegal goods that destroyed the nation's generation," he said. The head of the Banten BNNP, Hendri Marpaung, said that two judges of the Rangkasbitung District Court, Lebak Regency, with the initials YR (39) and DA (39) were assigned a suspect in the abuse of methamphetamine, weighing 20,634 grams.
