Explaining The Characteristics Of Radical Understanding, Central Sulawesi FKUB Asks Residents Not To Be Influenced, Immediately Report To Officers

PALU - The Forum for Religious Harmony (FKUB) of Central Sulawesi Province (Sulteng) appealed to people in all regions to recognize the characteristics of radical understanding so that they are not exposed and become intolerant, radical groups to fight the state.

"There are several characteristics of a radical understanding, both radical in religion, ideology and the like. First, it is not tolerant of the views of others, including the views of religious teachings that do not share their views," said Chairman of the FKUB of Central Sulawesi Province Prof. Dr. KH Zainal Abidin M Ag in Palu, Antara, Monday, May 23.

People who have a radical understanding, he continued, always consider their understanding, opinions, and views the best and most correct. If they are in conflict, they consider the understanding, views and opinions outside of them to be wrong and even have to be banned and fought.

For example, in Islam, there are many views and opinions of scholars on the verses in the holy book Al-Qur'an and hadith. From these many views, there were many differences in understanding the verses of the Qur'an and hadith. People who have a radical understanding do not want to accept the difference and assume that their understanding is correct.

Second, Zainal said people who have a radical understanding tend to be closed. In spreading his understanding to the general public, it is done secretly and avoids dialogue.

"Even now they are spreading their understanding by utilizing advances in technology and information such as using social media (medos) so that their identities are not known. They also use social media to recruit members to join their groups in spreading radical ideas," he said.

He said the main target of these radical groups were people who still had minimal understanding of religion because they were easy to be influenced and recruited.

"If you find that there are people who spread such an understanding, please report them to the local government through the lurah and sub-district heads or law enforcement officials so that they can be followed up," he said.
