19,543 Muslims In Bogor City Queue To Depart For Hajj

BOGOR CITY - A total of 19,543 Muslim residents in Bogor City, West Java Province, queued to go for the pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, according to data from the local Ministry of Religion Office.

"The number has been reduced to 450 people departing this year," said Ahyan Maemun, Head of the Section for Hajj and Umrah at the Bogor City Ministry of Religion, in Bogor, Monday, May 23.

Ahyan added, that the waiting period to go for Hajj in Bogor City can be up to 22 years.

He explained that residents who entered the hajj queue had paid an initial deposit for the pilgrimage trip fee of at least IDR 25,000,000 through a bank and registered with the Ministry of Religion Office.

Residents who have registered for Hajj at the Ministry of Religion Office will receive proof of registration in the form of a Hajj Registration Letter (SPPH) and receive a registration number or serial number, which is also a kind of departure queue number.

"Portions also mean seats on the plane later, lodging, and others regarding departure," Ahyan said as quoted by Antara.

Residents who already have a portion number must pay off the cost of the pilgrimage which is determined by the government after getting a departure schedule.

The government determines the cost of the pilgrimage based on the area of ​​embarkation or place of departure.

This year, the cost of the pilgrimage for members of the congregation who will depart via the Jakarta Embarkation (Pondok Gede) is IDR 39,886.009 per person and the Jakarta Embarkation (Bekasi) is IDR 39,886.009 per person.

"Of course, every year (the cost of hajj) can be different looking from various factors related to costs, planes, lodging, and others. But the government will definitely provide the best costs that can be reached by the community," said Ahyan.
