JAKARTA - The former Government Spokesperson for the Handling of COVID-19, Dr Achmad Yurianto, who passed away on Saturday, May 21, had a final message to convey to his family.

Edy explained that at the request of the seventh child of nine siblings, the family decided to transfer the treatment of the former Government Spokesperson for Handling COVID-19 to the Saiful Anwar Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Malang.

"With all the risk we shift (treatment) to Malang," he said.

Previously, Achmad Yurianto was treated at the Central Army Hospital (RSPAD) Jakarta due to colon cancer. The father of the two boys died after receiving treatment for three days at the Saiful Anwar Hospital in Malang.

He added that Yuri, Achmad Yurianto's nickname, was a person who was very close to Rr Mientarti's mother, who died in 2014. Wherever Yuri would be on duty, he always returned to Batu City to say goodbye to his parents.

"He is very close to his mother. Every time he goes to work he always comes home to say goodbye. If he can't go home, he always calls," he said.

The late Achmad Yurianto was a retired TNI soldier with the last rank of Colonel CKM. He started his career in 1987 as a military doctor and became the Chief Health Officer of the Military Region V Brawijaya.
