BMKG: Some Cities In Indonesia Are Raining Today

JAKARTA - A number of big cities in Indonesia will experience light rain today, Sunday, May 22, due to the influence of convergence in the local area. As reported from the www.bmkg.go.id page, wind confluence areas accompanied by slowing speed or convergence were observed for a long time in North Sumatra, the northern part of North Kalimantan, central Sulawesi, West Papua, and Papua.

This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth along the convergence area, including the entire Sumatra region, except for Banda Aceh, tomorrow the weather is forecasted to be cloudy.

Sunny cloudy weather also took place in the Padang and Bengkulu areas. The weather in Jambi and Palembang is forecasted to be foggy, while the Bandar Lampung area is forecasted to rain with light intensity.

Shifting to Java Island, the weather conditions are predicted to be virgin for the Serang and Yogyakarta areas. Meanwhile, in the areas of DKI Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, light rain is forecast. The Semarang area is forecasted to rain with moderate intensity.

Turning to Bali and Nusa Tenggara, sunny and cloudy weather is forecast, including Denpasar and Mataram. Meanwhile, people around the Kupang area need to be aware of light rain.

For the Kalimantan area, it is estimated that it will rain with light intensity, except for the Banjarmasin area which is predicted to be foggy. Cloudy areas are forecast for Sulawesi and Makassar, while Palu and Kendari are forecasted to have light rain.

BMKG appealed to people in the Mamuju area to be aware of heavy rain. The Gorontalo area will experience rain accompanied by lightning.

For the eastern region of Indonesia, it will generally rain, also in the Ternate and Ambon areas it will rain with light intensity.

For the Jayapura area, it is raining with moderate intensity. People in the Manokwari area need to be wary of rain accompanied by lightning.
