Through the cooperation agreement, PT Tjiwi Kimia has succeeded in reducing the use of its own generator by 30 MW from a total capacity of 230 MW by subscribing to PLN for 100 MVA power and the duration of the cooperation is three years from the previous one year.

"This PLN innovation prioritizes a win-win solution. The government will also increase industrial competitiveness and economic growth," Wanhar explained.

President Director Tjiwi Kimia, represented by Gijan Ongkoredjo, stated that this collaboration is a form of real synergy between PLN and the pulp and paper industry, in the context of accelerating economic growth and resilience of the domestic industry after the pandemic.

President Director of PT Sasa Inti, represented by General Manager Plant of PT Sasa Inti, Thomas Iskandar Unardi, stated that this cooperation is a step that benefits both parties.

“We have a generator which is actually used to back up PLN. Seeing PLN's performance getting better in the last five to ten years, we are increasingly confident of fully entrusting our industrial electricity supply to PLN," he said.

In the future, continued Thomas, PT Sasa Inti is also considering increasing the duration of the cooperation, and several other power plants to be acquired by PLN.
