MAGELANG - The Magelang Police have named SA (30), a caretaker for an Islamic boarding school (ponpes) in the Tempuran sub-district, Magelang, as a suspect in the alleged molestation of an underage female student. SA is suspected of having committed sexual acts of sexual abuse 9 times in a period of 3 months, from August to October 2021, then.

"The victim is a female student, a Magelang resident who is still in junior high school, she is 15 years old," explained Magelang Police Chief AKBP Mochammad Sajarod Zakun, through a written statement received Thursday, May 19.

Sajarod revealed that the case was uncovered on the report of the victim's family in February 2022. Then after an investigation was carried out and taking statements from several witnesses, the police named SA as a suspect in April 2022.

"This case was revealed based on reports from the victim and several witnesses that we have asked for information. And the suspect is SA, a resident of Tempuran sub-district, who is a caregiver from a boarding school where the victim overrides knowledge," said Sajarod.

Based on information from the Central Java Police, the chronology of the incident began when the perpetrator asked the victim to make coffee and was escorted to the perpetrator's room, at the Islamic Boarding School in the Tempuran District. At that time, the perpetrator acted indecently against the victim by touching the victim's genitals.

"At the time of the incident, there was no threat to the victim by the suspect," he explained.

Then, the suspect did the act again with the same mode, the victim was asked to make coffee or tea, then ordered to take him to the suspect's room.

"The result of our investigation is that this has been done repeatedly with the same method, namely the suspect always asks the victim to make coffee and orders him to take him to the suspect's room. That's where the suspect's actions were repeated up to 9 times, "said Sajarod.

From the results of the post-mortem, as a result of the suspect's actions against the victim, no signs of pregnancy were found.

"The results of the visum et repertum that the victim is not pregnant," he said.

As for some of the evidence that was successfully secured by the police, including the victim's clothes, cellphones belonging to the suspect and the victim, WA conversations belonging to the suspect and the victim.

Furthermore, SA, who is already married, admits that she has been a caregiver at a boarding school for 12 years. He also confessed to his actions 9 times.

"I've been working for 12 years. I did (obscenity) to the victim 9 times, and I regret it," he admitted.

The perpetrator was charged with the criminal act of molesting children as referred to in Article 82 of UURI No.17 of 2016 concerning the stipulation of Perppu No.1 of 2016 concerning the Second Amendment of UURI No.23 of 2002 concerning Child Protection into law, with a maximum prison sentence of 15 year.
