The Attorney General's Office Examines 7 Witnesses In Corruption Cases In CPO Exports

JAKARTA - Investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) examined seven witnesses related to the alleged corruption case in granting crude palm oil (CPO) export facilities.

"Witness examination is carried out to strengthen evidence and complete filing in cases of alleged corruption in the provision of export facilities for CPO and its derivatives from January 2021 to March 2022," said the Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenkum) at the Attorney General's Office, Ketut Sumedana, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 18.

Of the seven witnesses, six of them are private parties and one is from the Ministry of Trade. They are the President Director of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia with the initials E, the Director of CV Maju Continue with the initials HP, the President Director of PT Sari Agrotama Persada with the initials TM, the Deputy Head of PT Bukit Inti Makmur Abadi with the initials SVPK, and the Director of PT Berkah Sarana Irjatma with the initials AT.

Meanwhile, one witness from the Ministry of Trade is BA as the Head of the Equipment Section at the General Bureau and the Procurement Report for the Secretariat General (Sekjen) of the Ministry of Trade.

Regarding the alleged corruption case in CPO exports, the Jampidsus investigation team has named five suspects.

The suspects are the Director General of Foreign Trade (Dirjen Daglu) of the Ministry of Trade Indrasari Wisnu Wardhana, Commissioner of PT Wilmar Nabati Indonesia Master Parulian Tumanggor, Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs of PT Pelita Agung Agrindustri/Permata Hijau Group Stanley MA, and General Manager of the General Affairs Section of PT Musim Mas Picare Tagore Sitanggang.

On Tuesday (17/5), the AGO named the fifth suspect, Lin Che Wei, an economist who collaborated with the suspect Indrasari Wisnu Wardhan in issuing export approvals (PE) to three CPO producers and cooking oil exports.

The actions of the suspects resulted in state economic losses, namely the expensiveness and scarcity of cooking oil, resulting in a decrease in household consumption and small industries that use cooking oil and made it difficult for the community.
