Cak Imin Is Shaken By The Issue Of Being Overthrown From The Position Of Chairman Of The PKB, But Confirms That There Are No Indications

JAKARTA - The chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar, who is familiarly called Cak Imin, has denied that any party wants to overthrow him from his current position. He admitted that he had never heard of the issue.

"You haven't heard of me, you haven't heard of it, you've never heard of it, it's not there," said Cak Imin to reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, May 18.

Cak Imin refuses to talk at length about this issue. However, he emphasized that he had never seen any indications leading to this issue.

"No, there is no (indication, ed)," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR.

There is also the issue of the shake-up of Cak Imin's leadership in PKB which is often tweeted by Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figure Umar Hasibuan. Through his Twitter account, @UmarHasibuan70_, he said PKB was being attacked from all directions.

However, Umar ensured that he would remain loyal to the PKB, which is now led by Cak Imin.

"I will consistently join the PKB chairman @cakimiNOW until whenever. Now PKB is being attacked from all directions," Umar wrote on his Twitter account. VOI has requested permission to post this tweet.

Besides being attacked, Umar also smelled an attempt to overthrow Cak Imin from his position. However, he said, whoever was behind this move would be opposed by Cak Imin loyalists.

"There is an attempt to kill Cak Imin. And we will definitely fight those who are trying to get rid of Cak Imin from the head of the PKB," he said.

Apart from that tweet, Umar also tweeted another statement. One of them is insinuating that whoever wants to be president in the 2024 presidential election should not interfere with PKB.

"If you want to be president, make a party, don't want to hijack the PKB," he wrote.
