President Jokowi Monitors Bulk Cooking Oil Prices At Cibinong Market

BOGOR - President Joko Widodo accompanied by Deputy Governor of West Java Uu Ruzhanul Ulum and Acting Regent of Bogor Iwan Setiawan monitored the price of bulk cooking oil at Cibinong Market, Bogor Regency.

Iwan said, the results of monitoring with President Jokowi, the price of bulk cooking oil, although not stable, is already relatively affordable, around Rp. 14 thousand to Rp. 15 thousand per liter.

"What the President wants to reduce is related to bulk oil (price). The public also hopes for the availability of bulk oil. If the price may not be stable a little, but residents will accept it," said Iwan, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, May 17.

In addition to checking the price of bulk cooking oil, the President, accompanied by the Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, also symbolically handed over assistance for MSME business capital along with Cash Direct Assistance (BLT).

Iwan said President Jokowi advised people who received assistance not to use the money for credit or cellphones, but to use it as business capital.

"I heard earlier, Mr. President, that aids for the poor should not be bought with credit or cellphones, but used as business capital, that is his message for financial assistance to the people who receive the aid," said Iwan.

He also thanked President Jokowi for visiting the market in Bogor Regency several times. Iwan even accompanied Jokowi during a visit to Ciawi Market on Thursday, April 21, 22.

"On behalf of the Bogor Regency government, I thank the President and his ministers who don't stop coming to Bogor. There is also a lot of attention to PKH and also to disability, as well as monitoring the prices of basic commodities, especially cooking oil," said Iwan.

After touring the Cibinong Market, President Jokowi and his entourage then shifted to Gunung Batu Market in Bogor City.
