Vesak Holiday, Yogyakarta Parangtritis Beach Visited 53,600 Tourists

BANTUL - The Parangtritis Beach tourist attraction, Bantul Regency, Yogyakarta Special Region, was visited by 53,600 tourists during the long holiday weekend of the 2022 Vesak Day.

Coordinator of the main levy collection point (TPR) for Parangtritis Beach, Rahmad Ridwanto, said that the officers collected the number of tourists for three days from Saturday, May 14 to Monday, the evening of May 16.

"On Saturday there were 14,000 visitors, then Sunday there were 22,600 visitors, and Monday until 18.00 WIB there were 17,000 visitors," he said as quoted by Antara, Monday, May 16.

According to him, although the coastal tourist area is crowded with tourists, the flow of tourists at the entrance remains smooth, and in controlling the flow, his party is assisted by personnel from the TNI, Polri, and the Transportation Service.

Meanwhile, Head of Promotion and Information Section of the Bantul Tourism Office Markus Purnomo Aji said the total visits on the Vesak holiday or Monday until 18.00 WIB in all Bantul destinations were 21,588 people with an income of IDR 438 million.

He mentioned 17,000 people for Parangtritis Beach, 2,700 Samas Beaches, 200 Cemara Goa Beaches, 200 Kuwaru Beaches, 1,200 New Beaches, and 276 Selarong Cave attractions, and 12 Cerme Caves.

"The level of tourist visits compared to Monday (9/5/2022) a week ago was 8,857 people, or an increase of 144 percent," he said.

According to him, so that the retribution collection service can be maximized, during long holidays, his party will add officers to all destinations, especially tourist routes, especially to the beach when the national holiday is crowded with vehicles.
