One More, Victim Died In Deadly Bus Accident On Surabaya-Mojokerto Toll Road Becomes 14 People

SURABAYA - The death toll due to a fatal accident on the Surabaya-Mojokerto toll road has increased by one person to 14 people. One of the victims who died was in Dr. Wahidin Sudiro Husodo General Hospital Mojokerto.

"A total of 13 people died at the crime scene, then one additional person died at the hospital. The identities of the dead and injured are still being collected," said Head of Public Relations of the East Java Police, Grand Commissioner Dirmanto, at the East Java Police Headquarters, Surabaya, Monday, May 16.

The total death toll so far has reached 14 of the 25 passengers. His party is currently still registering victims and focusing on the crime scene, as well as deploying a team from the East Java Police Traffic Directory.

"Temporary data in the field, the cause of this human error accident, this backup driver was tired or sleepy. So when crossing KM 712,200 it wobbled, then right at KM 712,400 hit a billboard," he said.

According to Dirmanto, victims of minor and serious injuries were evacuated to several hospitals spread across Mojokerto. Among them are Citra Medika Hospital, RA Basoeni Hospital, EMMA Hospital, Dr. Wahidin Sudiro Husodo, Sakinah Hospital, and Gatoel Hospital.

"We will evacuate those who died to Wahidin Soediro Husodo Hospital, then at Basoeni Hospital, and Sakinah Mojokerto Hospital. We will probably inform the victim's family if the data is valid. We will contact the victim's family later," he said.
