Police Hand Over Seven Foreigners, Victims Of Human Trafficking, To Tahuna Immigration

SANGIHE - The Sangihe Islands Police have handed over seven foreign nationals (WNA) from the Philippines who are victims of human trafficking to the Immigration Office Class II Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) Tahuna.

"We have received the handover of seven foreign nationals who are victims of human trafficking from the Sangihe Police," said the Head of the Information and Communication Technology section of the Immigration Office of TPI Tahuna, Catur Febriandi Sutanto in Tahuna, Monday, May 16.

According to him, the immigration authorities have not carried out any checks on the seven foreigners, because the Sangihe Islands Police have already conducted them.

He said Immigration is currently carrying out the process of deporting the seven victims.

Previously, the Sangihe Police Chief Grand Commissioner Adjutant of Police Denny Tompunuh said at a press conference at the Sangihe Police that the seven Filipino citizens were MG alias Merry, SF alias Sari, JFC alias Jinky, ADP alias Arjil, VAM alias Kening, GLP alias Helen, and JAG alias Juns.

The seven Filipino nationals, said the Police Chief, did not have the legal right to be brought into Indonesian territory because they were not equipped with documents and did not go through a legal immigration checkpoint with the intention of being exploited in Indonesia or to other countries.

"The seven foreigners from the Philippines will then be sent to several countries in the Middle East to be used as workers," said Antara.
