Inaugurates Al-Azhar High School In Salatiga, Ganjar: Invites People With Disabilities, Gives Scholarships To Poor Students

JAKARTA - The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, had a special request when he inaugurated the Al-Azhar 30 High School in Salatiga City. Ganjar wants the school to accept students with disabilities and poor students.

"Of all Al-Azhar schools, he said SMA Al-Azhar 30 Salatiga is the cheapest. Even so, I still haggled. Not haggling over the price, but I asked to invite people with disabilities to a certain extent. I ask you to slowly become an inclusion," said Ganjar in a written statement, Monday, May 16.

Ganjar also asked school administrators to provide scholarships for poor students. The budget can use cross-subsidies or other methods.

“For example, those who cannot afford scholarships can cross-subsidies between students or others. Thank God the manager said he had prepared it," he added.

Ganjar's two special requests were not without reason. Although it takes more mature preparation, but he really hopes it can be realized. Because the teaching and learning process has not yet started, this momentum can be used.

"Who knows if the school leads to inclusion, then maybe this will be the first one that is ready to accommodate it. If this is done, then students at this school can have spiritual, intellectual, and emotional intelligence. And emotionally, they are used to their friends in various conditions," he explained.

Ganjar is also happy to see the school building located in the middle of the countryside, with a natural feel that is still beautiful.

“The place is nice, a bit far but very beautiful. There is boarding and here the curriculum has been designed with high quality. I hope this place can become a center of excellence that is beneficial to the nation,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Salatiga, Yulianto, said that the presence of Al-Azhar High School is expected to be an alternative for the community in the world of education.

"Hopefully this school can be used by the people of Salatiga City in particular, and can make children a useful generation for religion, parents and the nation," he said.
