Update On COVID-19 As Of October 14: New Cases 4,127, Total Cases 344,749

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 40,393 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 4,127 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 344,749 people," the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Wednesday, October 14.

Today, more cases recovered than new cases, namely an increase of 4,555 people, so that a total of 267,851 people recovered. Then, the confirmed positive cases who died increased by 129 people and a total of 12,156 people.

The province with the most new cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1,038 new cases and a total of 90,266 cases. DKI Jakarta is also the province with the most accumulated cases in Indonesia.

Followed by West Java which has 442 new cases with a total of 28,529 cases. West Sumatra has 351 new cases and a total of 9,403 cases. Riau has 300 new cases and a total of 10,643 cases. Then, East Java has 299 new cases and a total of 47,894 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1,191 recovered cases. Followed by Central Java with an additional 897 recovered cases, West Java with an additional 524 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 330 cases recovered.

Then, there is 1 province that reported having no new cases today. The province is West Papua.

In addition, the number of specimens examined reached 3,892,904. In detail, as many as 3,823,066 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 69,838 using molecular rapid tests (TCM).

"The number of positive results per number of specimens examined ( positivity rate ) was 14.3 percent," he wrote.

Finally, the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 154,420 people. Currently, 500 districts / cities from 34 provinces have cases of COVID-19.
