AMBON - Kodam XVI/Pattimura will celebrate its 23rd Birthday which falls on 15 May 2022 by holding the record-breaking Indonesian-World Record Museum (MURI) for the category of eating the most papeda (a typical Moluccan food).

"The MURI record-breaking activity as a special gift for the 23rd Anniversary of the Pattimura Kodam will take place at the Merah Putih Bridge (JMP) which stretches over Ambon Bay on Monday, May 16," said Head of Information for Kodam XVI/Pattimura, Colonel ARH Adi Prayogo when confirmed in Ambon, Antara, Friday, May 13.

He confirmed that two MURI records would be broken in the event entitled "Red-White Papeda", namely for the category of eating the most papeda, and the longest papeda wrap, which is 123 meters long, which is arranged in the middle stretch of JMP.

Papeda is a typical Moluccan food made from sago starch brewed with hot water, while papeda wrap is papeda that has been cold and wrapped in banana leaves.

The activity was labeled "Red-White Papeda" because the most and longest papeda eating activity was held on a red and white bridge.

Kapendam ensured that the MURI record-breaking will be led directly by the Commander of the XVI/Pattimura Military Command Major General Richard Tampubolon and the decay of the main official of the Pattimura Kodam.

Especially for the category of eating papeda the most will be followed by 12 thousand soldiers and families of Kodam XVI/Pattimura whose work area covers two provinces, namely Maluku and North Maluku (Malut) and is carried out in a hybrid manner.

As for the MURI record for the papeda length category, which will be broken, which is 123 meters, which means the number 1 indicates the Pattimura Kodam is the protector and glue of the Nation, while the 23 is the age of service of the Pattimura Kodam in Maluku and North Maluku.

He ensured that all temporary preparations were completed and the road to and from JMP would be temporarily closed between 3-4 hours.

"We ask for public understanding and participation because transportation activities at JMP will be disrupted due to this MURI record-breaking activity," he said.
