Coordinating Minister For Human Development And Culture: Ministry Of Health Has Mobilized All Resources To Handle The Spread Of Acute Hepatitis

JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK), Muhadjir Effendy, responded to the call from the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, for the government to be responsive in dealing with the spread of acute hepatitis by coordinating with the World Health Organization (WHO).

Muhadjir stated that currently, the Ministry of Health has mobilized all resources to overcome the disease.

"Anticipation of the spread of hepatitis is currently being handled by the Indonesian Ministry of Health as a technical ministry", said Muhadjir in his statement, Thursday, May 12.

"The Ministry of Health has mobilized all resources", he continued.

Meanwhile, the Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, said that until now her party continues to coordinate with WHO in overcoming acute hepatitis.

Not only carried out in the context of monitoring the development of hepatitis, said Nadia, the Ministry of Health also follows the guidelines from WHO.

"We are monitoring developments and following the guidelines from WHO", said Nadia.

Previously, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, asked the government to quickly deal with acute hepatitis which has begun to spread in Indonesia. According to her, the government must continue to coordinate with WHO.

The chairman of the PDIP Central Executive Board also reminded the government to alert pediatricians and medical personnel in every area. As well as preparing health facilities to anticipate the worst scenario related to acute hepatitis.

"For the community, especially parents who have children, to anticipate the spread of acute hepatitis which is quite dangerous for children", said Puan.
