Vice President Ma'ruf Amin: 'Sports Fever' Must Be Grown In Every Region

JAKARTA - Vice President, KH Ma'ruf Amin, said, 'sports fever' or public enthusiasm for sports must be grown in every region in order to develop the world of national sports.

He said this at the National Sports Grand Design Implementation Meeting (DBON) at the Vice President's Palace, Jakarta, Thursday, May 12.

"In my opinion, the first important thing is that this 'sports fever' must be cultivated. And I agree that being in the regional government later there will be a part of not being an option, but one that is required to develop sports," he said as quoted by Antara.

He conveyed that 'sports fever' is needed to foster the spirit of exercising in each region, and to make this happen, a number of rules must be set.

He also emphasized that the DBON master plan or long-term roadmap must be completed immediately, as a guideline for the implementation of national sports development. "And later it will be described in an action plan, which can be used as input to be determined in the RPJMN. I think this should be completed. Of course it will be coordinated with all," he said.

He also reminded the importance of good coordination between institutions, between ministries, between the central government, institutions, and also with local governments, so that the strategy and use of funds can be carried out properly.

"Earlier it was mentioned that our funding sources are many, APBN, APBD, private sector, BUMN. And even later village funds, according to the Minister of Finance, it can be done. Mr. Minister of Home Affairs, this village fund can later be made for facilities- sports facilities. So, I think this will be very big. So, then the problem of funds is not really the main problem, "he said.
