KUPANG - The harsh treatment of workers on ship passengers at Larantuka Harbor reached the ears of the NTT Police Chief Inspector General Setyo Budiyanto. Kapolda will coordinate with

loading and unloading labor manager (TKBM).

"What is certain is that there are labor managers at every port. We will approach the managers," he explained to reporters in Kupang, Antara, Thursday, May 12.

Passengers at the port of Larantuka, East Flores complained about the harsh treatment of port workers when carrying their luggage. There are even some residents who accuse the workers of trying to force the passengers to carry the ship's goods even though they are reluctant to hand it over.

According to him, the role of TKBM managers must run well so that there is good coordination between workers and TKBM managers.

He gave an example of the TKBM cooperative at the Kupang Tenau Port which is able to manage the workers at the port so that they can work properly and there are no complaints from the public or ship passengers.

According to him, the Tenau TKBM itself has so far been able to carry out a good assessment starting from the time of recruitment of TKBM employees so that it runs well.

"Then there are also rights given by the cooperative to the workers so that it is more calm for the workers to work and not fight over passengers," he said.

He admitted that he had just learned of the bad treatment of workers at the Larantuka port, therefore he would convey this to his members who are on duty in the area to immediately coordinate with the management of interests in the area.

"Later, I will convey to the parties who have responsibility in Larantuka to coordinate, so that something like this does not happen again," he said.
