1,300 Cibinong Prison Inmates X-rayed To Prevent Tuberculosis

JAKARTA - Class IIA Cibinong Correctional Institution (Lapas) in Bogor Regency, West Java, held a mass screening for inmates in prison (WBP) to anticipate the transmission of tuberculosis (TB).

"This mass screening is in accordance with the direction of the Directorate General of Corrections at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia," said Head of Cibinong Prison Usman Madjid in Bogor, Wednesday, May 11.

The mass screening was held for 10 days from 9-20 May 2022 in the Sahardjo Hall of Cibinong Prison with a target of 150 WBP per day.

"This tuberculosis screening is carried out in stages over 10 days," he continued, quoted from Antara.

There are 1,300 WBP in Cibinong Prison who will undergo medical examinations such as x-rays, measurement of height, weight, interviews with medical parties, and examination of results.

The Screening Coordinator of UPT Cibinong Prison, Sumarni, revealed that the results of this mass screening will be out within two working days at the earliest.

"The results will take two days at the earliest, then we will report back every result and development to the regional and central offices," said Sumarni.

This TB Screening socialization has been going on since early 2022 and in its implementation it coordinates with the Bogor District Health Office, Kemuning Health Center, Bogor Plus Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), and the NGO Pesona Bumi Pasundan.
