Husband Burns Child And Wife Case In Kudus, Police Issues SP3 Following Perpetrator's Death

KUDUS - Polres Kudus, Central Java, will issue a warrant to stop the investigation (SP3) in the case of a husband burning his wife and child following the death of the perpetrator.

"Because the perpetrator died, the case will be issued SP3," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Kudus Police AKP Agustinus David P in Kudus as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 11.

In the meantime, he added, the administrative files will be completed first. Because in the issuance of SP3 there are indeed a number of files that must be completed, both statements from witnesses and other administrative files.

The suspected arsonist, Agus Suwarno (32), a resident of Klumpit Village, Gebog District, Kudus, was declared dead on April 20, 2022 at around 12.10 WIB, after undergoing treatment at the Loekmono Hadi Kudus Regional General Hospital (RSUD).

The perpetrator also suffered burns up to 90 percent more. Meanwhile, the perpetrator's wife and children died from burns suffered.

As for the cause of death, based on information from the Kudus Hospital, it was due to "septic shock" due to "combutio" (burns). "Septic shock" is a "subtype of sepsis" associated with severe cellular metabolic and circulatory abnormalities.

The case of the burning of a child and wife in Klumpit Village occurred on Saturday, April 16 at around 08.00 WIB. In its development, no suspects have been named because the alleged perpetrators who suffered burns up to 90 percent more could not be questioned.

Meanwhile, two of the victims, namely M. Syarif, who was the perpetrator's 1.5-month-old child, died on the way to the Sunan Kudus Islamic Hospital. Meanwhile, Sulistiana (wife) died at the same hospital on Saturday night after undergoing treatment.

The cause of the arson is yet to be ascertained. However, it was rumored that his wife decided to separate from the alleged perpetrator due to economic problems and the victim had experienced domestic violence (KDRT).
