Central Java PDIP Event No Ganjar Pranowo Megawati's Clear Position Stretches Puan Maharani, Observer: Inevitably Rewards Find Another Party

Central Java - Central Java (Central Java) Governor Ganjar Pranowo did not attend the halal bihalal event organized by the Central Java PDI-P (PDIP). Whereas all PDIP cadres who are regional heads in Central Java were present at the event which was held on Saturday 7 May.

When the event took place, Ganjar was in Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. Speculation is growing about Ganjar's absence because he was not invited by the chairman of the Central Java PDIP DPD, Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul.

Political observer from Al Azhar University Indonesia, Ujang Komarudin, assessed that PDIP was showing signs of being 'reluctant' to carry its cadres as presidential candidates in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"This is not the first time Ganjar has been invited to an event in Central Java by PDIP, but it has happened many times. This means that this is a clear stance from PDIP that it seems that it does not seem like it wants Ganjar related to his candidacy," Ujang told VOI, Tuesday, May 10.

Ujang said PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri had long ago pocketed the names of presidential candidates or vice presidential candidates from internal PDIP. However, it was not Ganjar's name that was on Megawati's radar.

According to Ujang, PDIP will carry the Chair of the PDIP DPP as well as the Chair of the DPR Puan Maharani in the 2024 presidential election. For this reason, PDIP is trying to 'isolate' Ganjar.

"That's because what we know is that PDIP has a crown princess who, like it or not, is prepared for the presidential candidacy. Either become a presidential or vice-presidential candidate," he said.

Ujang believes that Ganjar needs to find another boat if he wants to sail in the contest for the five-year democracy party. "That's why Ganjar, whether you like it or not, like it or not, he has to find another party," he concluded. Until now, PDIP has yet to name a presidential candidate or vice-presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election. Meanwhile, the names Ganjar Pranowo and Puan Maharani most often appear in survey results related to the 2024 presidential election.

In the results of a survey of a number of institutions, Ganjar's electability continues to rise regarding candidates in the 2024 presidential election. In contrast, Puan stagnates at the bottom with an average electability equal to Ridwan Kamil or Sandiaga Uno.
